CALLER: Hi, Rush. This is such an honor. Even though I live in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, I am from San Francisco, California. I’m in my thirties, and I was educated at an Ivy League school, and somehow I don’t fear you. I, in fact, adore you, and I’m honored to speak to you.
RUSH: Thank you very much. I appreciate that.
CALLER: I wanted to also thank you for being a voice of sanity and giving the truth about Israel right now. You know, as a Jewish American, it’s just very hard, as it is just to be a conservative American, dealing with the constant, what feels like an attack against what’s morally good and reasonable and the truth, but I just really appreciate how much you tell the world and how fearless you are.
RUSH: Well, I appreciate your saying that. People ask me, you know, there are a lot of Jewish people in Hollywood and they vote liberal Democrat, and there are a lot of Jewish people in academia and they vote liberal Democrat, and there’s a lot of Jewish people at the New York Times and they hate Israel, and I have people ask me, “How in the world do all of these Jewish people line up against Israel the way they do?”
CALLER: Yeah.
RUSH: There’s a simple answer for this, and it’s the same answer, why do they line up — I mean, you’re Jewish, but you are conservative so the fact you’re Jewish doesn’t count for anything. And the answer to the question is liberals are liberals first, whether they’re gay, whether they’re transgender, whether they’re female, whether they’re feminist, whether they’re Jewish, they’re liberals first. Liberal dominates everything else. And so if the liberal position is that Israel is an evil, mean majority that’s being mean to these poor Palestinians who don’t have anything, they’re launching rockets, then they gotta go, they’re bad. The fact that they’re fellow Jewish people doesn’t matter, because liberals are liberals first, last, and always.
