RUSH: Did you hear what Michelle Obama said at a Women’s Empowerment Lunch at the White House on Wednesday? (interruption) Well, she did. She said that women are smarter than men. She did. I think not just halfway joking. You know, she said that. But she also said — and I quote — “I tease my kids. I tell them I want them to use Instagram to take a picture of something really important rather than their foodÂ… I mean, no one really cares what you had for lunch.”
Yeah, her kids are out there apparently taking pictures of their lunch and posting it on Instagram, and Michelle said to a Women’s Empowerment Lunch, she told the kids, “Nobody cares what you had for lunch. You don’t need to send pictures of that stuff out.” Now, wait just a second here. Has Michelle Obama been body snatched by aliens or something? I mean, caring about what you had for lunch is all she does. She is dictating what people have for lunch in the public school system. I thought we were all supposed to care what kids had for lunch. In fact, she cared so much that she had to turn the whole school lunch program upside down.
By the way, there is some vegan revenge taking place out there, folks. You know, I have to tell you, even on this program, as you know I have tried to call your attention to the militant vegetarians, and this is a great example. All week long I have been discussing the need to teach, particularly young people, that everything is politics. You know, these young people, not even young people, just people that say, “I hate politics. I don’t like the arguing. Why can’t we all just get along? I hate politics.” These are especially the people we need to get to because everything is political. And look, the Republicans are not immune from that, but the Republicans get political in a defensive way.
Republicans get up every day and just look at what they believe in being attacked, and sometimes they decide to defend it. I do every day. Sometimes the Republicans will defend what they believe. But the point is, the Democrats are on offense every hour of every day, and it is all political. It’s all for the purpose of advancing an agenda. The agenda is big government and as much control over people and the country and life as possible.
But the people that don’t see that are the people that hate politics, they tune it out, they don’t want any part of it. It’s too much acrimony. There’s not enough getting along. And so to them, global warming, it’s not politics. It’s science. Well, imagine me trying to come along and convince people that vegetarianism is political. “What? Are you crazy? Does everything have to be political to you?” I can imagine people listening, you know, scanning by, young people, and me on a rant, they catch it in the middle about militant vegetarians, and say, “This is absolutely absurd.”
And if they stop and listen, fine, we’ll get ’em, but if they keep going, we’ll lose ’em. But imagine the difficulty in trying to explain that vegetarianism is part of a political agenda. And it is with some people. Not all vegetarians. Most of ’em are dupes. Most of them just think they’re eating healthier. (interruption) Ruin what? (interruption) Yeah, most of ’em are dupes in the sense they don’t understand they’re part of a political agenda. I’m not insulting ’em. I’m actually exempting them from being part of the political movement. (interruption) You’re a dupe. If you’re a vegetarian and you don’t realize there’s a political agenda attached to what you’re doing, you’re being duped, you’re a dupe. Yes.
Because vegetarianism is political. And you know how I know? And this is the challenge. The challenge is to persuade, convince people of this. “How can that possibly be, Mr. Limbaugh? You know, I want to give you the benefit of the doubt, but my mom always said you were an extreme, really way-out-there kind of guy, and this kind of proves it, vegetarians political?”
Yes, they are, they don’t know it, many of them, that’s my point, they’re dupes. The very idea that militant vegetarians demand everybody do what they do is all the proof you need that it’s political, because how do they intend to enforce you doing what they want you to do? They’re going to make the government do it, if they have half a chance. And that circles us back to Michelle Obama, who kind of stepped in it when she said, “Come on, kids, nobody cares what you had for lunch,” because her entire identity as first lady has been to dictate the school lunch menu for kids all over the country. Michelle Obama is political and the politics of it is not the food. The politics is not vegetarianism.
The politics is that it is a way of expanding government control over people’s life, of guilt-tripping you, of stigmatizing certain things, of changing, coercing your behavior. If there were no political agenda attached to it, the militant vegetarians wouldn’t care what you ate. They would be satisfied with their own diet and leave it alone. The fact that they have to push it on you, the fact that they want government power with regulations from the agriculture department to push it on you is all the proof you need that it’s political.
Now, you might say, “Well, I don’t care, Rush, because that’s healthy. Vegetarianism is healthy stuff, and if it takes that to make people healthy, fine.” All right, if that’s your attitude, one of these days they’re gonna come for something you really do care about, and they’re gonna make you do the opposite or not permit you to do it, or otherwise force you to do something you really hate, and then you’re gonna get it but it may be too late by then. It’s really better if you understand now the entire political identity and nature and agenda of the Democrat Party.
So, veggie revenge. What is it? Well, in Texas, Texas, of all places, they have discovered a bug that can turn you into a vegetarian, or at least make you swear off of red meat. “Doctors across the nation are seeing a surge of sudden meat allergies in people bitten by a certain kind of tick.” Oh, yes. We’re gonna get to Ebola. Oh, man, are we gonna. And we’re gonna get to Iraq, yes. Look, it’s Open Line Friday, folks, and even I need a break from the deadweight serious stuff every day. Give me a little time here. If I want to talk about a tick that turns people into vegetarians, I promise it won’t take long.
“This bizarre problem was only discovered a few years ago but is growing as the ticks spread from the Southwest and the East to more parts of the United States. In some cases, eating a burger or a steak has landed people in the hospital with severe allergic reactions. The culprit is the Lone Star tick,” named for Texas, a state famous for meaty barbecues. Of all things, a tick that can make people swear off beef found smack-dab in the middle of cattle country.
Now, let’s just see. We may never get any news on this, but this is the kind of thing that militant vegetarians will find and make a big deal out of. What do you think the whole effort to ban beef and burgers in McDonald because of global warming is? You think that’s not political? There’s any number of ways to illustrate how everything the left does is political. (interruption) What, radical vegetarians? Now, that’s a bit of — (interruption) Yes, I know. I don’t think you’re kidding. (interruption) All right, all right, I’ll remember you said it. Snerdley thinks the radicals are gonna try to get hold of these ticks and mass produce them, mass grow ’em and spread ’em all over the country in order to get people to stop eating beef.
Well, let’s just put it this way, if that happens I wouldn’t be surprised. That’s how committed they are to making everybody do what they do, ’cause remember now it’s all about global warming and saving the planet, folks. Eating beef, not eating beef, vegetarianism, all of this, it’s all political.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: This is Carolyn in Bluffton, South Carolina, you’re next. Great to have you, hi.
CALLER: Hi. It’s great to talk to you and I just wanted to tell you that you bring sanity into my life since my husband passed away. When all these things are happening in the world, I look forward at 12 listening to you because it really helps. But when you were talking about the tick, I have a friend whose daughter suffered from Lyme disease, and just as you were talking about it, I looked on my e-mail and I had a thing on Facebook that ticks in New York can turn your allergy to red meat, and it says one allergist on Long Island said she already has seen 200 cases.
RUSH: You’re kidding me?
CALLER: No.
RUSH: You’ve already got an e-mail that’s trying to pressure you or otherwise scare you into avoiding meat?
CALLER: Well, it looks like it, because I didn’t check out where the e-mail came from, but you know how you have the thing down there where you can click on, it says it came from —
RUSH: It doesn’t matter where it came from. It’s a leftist group.
CALLER: Yeah. I wouldn’t be surprised.
RUSH: Well, it has to be, by default. The militant vegetarians, the militant anythings are always leftists.
CALLER: That’s true.
RUSH: Well, so Snerdley’s right. No wonder your call made it on the air, because you’re making his point. If you’re just tuning in, we had a little fun today. There’s a new tick that has been discovered in Texas, of all places, ladies and gentlemen. It is the Lone Star tick, it has been named for Texas, and it is infecting cattle. And anybody that eats beef infected by this tick has a severe allergic reaction, and Snerdley predicted that the militant vegans and vegetarians would grasp onto this and start sending e-mails or otherwise try to get hold of people to influence them not to eat beef, and I kind of laughed, “Come on.”
And, lo and behold, you got one already. So proof again. Something as innocuous as a tick that causes an allergy in beef, and here’s a group that’s already glommed on trying to scare people to stay away from beef, and they happen to be promoting vegetarianism. Politics it is. Carolyn, thanks much. I appreciate it.
