RUSH: Last Thursday, New York’s young socialist congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, released her “Green New Deal” resolution. She’s calling for “a massive transformation of our society.”

Ed Markey, Massachusetts Democrat, 72 years  old, introduced the resolution in the Senate. A bunch of Democrat presidential candidates immediately endorsed it before they had ever even read it.

The Green New Deal calls for “de-carbonizing” our economy. Getting rid of cars, airplanes, and cow farts. Rebuilding every building in America, or retrofitting them, if necessary.

And now that America is the No. 1 energy producer in the world under President Trump, these Democrats are demanding the elimination of all fossil fuel energy.

The Green New Deal calls for a federal jobs guarantee for everybody, and “economic security” for those “unable or unwilling to work,” and universal single-payer healthcare. All “paid for” by printing money, if they have to.

Now this Green New Deal is the same old liberal blue wish-list that the socialist left has been pushing for the last 100 years. It’s the same stupidity that destroys every country that tries it, every time it’s tried.
