RUSH: The one glaring thing in all of this, though, to me — and I’ve been talking about this. I guess I delved into it extensively yesterday and a couple of times previous. You notice that the Democrats are totally unified. I mean, you know they’re dragging Algore back out? Algore is being dragged out of the Apple boardroom and wherever else he hangs out to go and rally Millennials on the premise that Millennials will respond to Algore’s claim that we are destroying the planet and that he will get their attention.
We have emails from donors. We got thousands and thousands of emails here that have been leaked and dumped, and I can’t find any reference to climate change. Now, the reason I find that fascinating, ’cause it’s the number one issue. You know, Obama’s out there saying it’s the number one national security threat, and he’s got his Joint Chiefs of Staff out there planning American battles, military engagements on that basis.
We are forward planning and strategic on what the planet will look like with climate change as we decide to go into various areas of the world if we have to. I know it’s absurd, but they’re out saying so, and Hillary makes a big, big deal about climate change. And yet I can’t find them talking about it. I can find them strategizing about any number of things in these WikiLeaks email dumps, but there’s not a thread on climate change whatsoever. Why is that? If climate change were that big a deal to these people, don’t you think they would be talking about it internally?
Strategizing how to use it, how to promote it, how to use it as a campaign aid? I can’t find any reference to it. And I’m not surprised by it. The whole thing is bogus and made up, designed like they always do to scare you. But, look, the bottom line is, folks: They are unified. Their single objective is taking us out. We do not have that. Look at what’s happening on our side. I mean, it’s atrocious. It is actually embarrassing.
But not a one of them could beat Trump. So now they’re looking at scapegoats. They’re looking here; they’re looking at talk radio, other places. But, as usual, they’re ignoring the people. They’re ignoring their own voters. Trump is winning not ’cause of talk radio, not because of this or that. Trump is winning because people that vote Republican have been let down and disappointed one too many times, and their instinct is being borne out here. The Republican Party is not interested in winning.
It clearly is not interested in winning. And if you want to be even more specific than that, it is paramountly obvious that they’re not even interested in defeating the Democrats. Well, Republican voters are fed up with Democrats and Democrat policy. Republican voters and people all over this country are fed up with what Democrat leftist policies are doing to this country, and they want it stopped, and the only agency that can stop it has been the Republican Party, and they have refused to!
The Republican Party has steadfastly sided with its donors and its lobbyists, and this is why we’re where we are. The Republican Party is in a predicament that it made itself. It made its own bed, and now they don’t want to lay in it. Now they want to run from the bed that they made. But this is a… It’s a problem that need not exist, but it illustrates what we’re all really up against here, and that is what has been called the establishment or the elites and whatever.
But it’s comprised of both Republicans and Democrats and their membership in this club known as the establishment, party affiliation is second or third in terms of your qualifications to be in the club. It’s just mind-boggling. All of these years I’ve been doing this program I was under the impression the Republican Party wanted to beat Democrats. And as the years have gone by, it’s become obvious to me that that’s not their number one objective.
At the same time, it’s abundantly clear the Democrats want to eliminate us. They don’t even want us around. I think the Democrat attitude is, “You know, we’ve toyed with you people for all these years, and we’ve been faking you out. We’ve been making it look like we want you in our club, but we really don’t. We don’t want… You’re nothing but a bunch of foils, and we don’t need you anymore, and we’re just gonna wipe you out.
The Republicans that want to get rid of Trump are a minority. The Republicans that want to beat Democrats are a minority. The Republicans that want to win the presidency this year are a minority. Stop and think of that! It’s mind-boggling when you look at it just that way. And now we have Republicans — to one degree or another — working as hard as the Democrats are to defeat Donald Trump. Look, I know the drill. They say he’s not a Republican. They say he’s a Trojan horse or he’s unacceptable or he’s uncouth or whatever they say.
But the American people — Republican voters especially — are fed up with the status quo. We can’t stand any more! We don’t want any more of what we’ve had to put up with for eight years and many years prior. The country we know and love is being torn apart and rebuilt in ways that we don’t want, and the Republican Party doesn’t even seem to care about that. The Republican Party seems just as eager as the Democrats to pronounce their voters as extreme kooks. The Republican Party seems as eager as the Democrats to blame their number one and number two and number three promoters.
Where would the Republican Party being without talk radio the last 25 years? And yet who now is enemy number one? Talk radio! I don’t know what I did to Michael Gerson, but he’s back again in the Washington Post blaming everything Trump on me. I haven’t talked to Trump since he made his comments about McCain being captured; now he doesn’t respect military guys that get captured. When was that, last August? But all that aside, isn’t it just heart-stopping and mind-numbing when you stop and realize that the Republican Party doesn’t want to win?
Facebook sharing research with Hillary, John Harwood of the New York Times coordinating questions and so forth for Bill Clinton, CBS News giving questions for Clinton in advance for an interview — and on and on and on it goes. And over here is the Republican Party which seems to be relishing in guaranteeing defeat. They somehow think that this is progress or positive?

RUSH: So I just had somebody tell me, “You know, Rush, why the Republicans are so mad at you is because you’re not carrying their water anymore. You know, they jealous. They look over at the Drive-By Media and they see the Drive-By Media totally fronting and carrying the water for the Democrats, and they think you used to be on their side. But now you don’t carry their water anymore, and that’s why they’re throwing down on you,” and I guess that makes sense. I hadn’t considered that as a possibility.
I just always chalked it up to it’s easy to blame other people when things aren’t going well. You know, you listen to this program. You document what’s said on this program. I have chosen a different path when talking about the failings of the Republican leadership. I don’t make it personal, and many other people do, and I suspect maybe they’re not aware of that. If everybody’s dumping on ’em, they’re gonna conclude that everybody is.
But it’s just a policy of mine. I mean, and it isn’t personal per se to document what the Republican Party leadership is doing and how they’re abrogating actual leadership.

RUSH: Here’s Gretchen, Long Beach, Mississippi, as we head back to the phones. I’m really glad you waited. I appreciate your patience. How are you doing?
CALLER: I’m doing fine. How are you?
RUSH: Good. Good, good, good. Thank you.
CALLER: Thank you so much for taking my call. I have a couple comments. My first is, is Paul Ryan absolutely stupid with his knee-jerk reaction to an 11-year-old statement that Trump said and just kicks him under the bus? It’s so frustrating that you watch Democrats circle the wagons around the most heinous things some Democrats have done, and immediately Paul Ryan just, boom! Kicks him under the bus. It’s just frustrating. It then creates, really, a lot more hoopla in a way than shouldn’t have caused. It’s an 11-year-old statement; the man apologized for it.
RUSH: Right.
CALLER: And we just chuck ’em under the bus! We chuck ’em under the bus! Within what, an hour? It was so quick, bam!
RUSH: Yeah, you would think they would want to win, right? But it looks like they don’t want to win if it means winning with Trump. They must really hate Trump out there, Gretchen.
CALLER: Well, yes, I think they really do hate Trump for a lot of reasons. There’s a lot of different reasons why they hate Trump, and it’s a myriad, and they all have their different things. He’s an outside; they’re an insider. I think there are some RINOs who like the TPP and a lot of the kind of globalist things. There’s money to be made there, and then there are some Republicans who a little bit more have the national concern first. But this is the kind of stuff that Paul Ryan did that’s gotten Trump in the race.
RUSH: What this is exposing, Gretchen, is it’s exposing that all of these years of Republican fundraising on the premise that they want to beat Democrats? It wasn’t true within was it?
CALLER: No, it wasn’t true.
RUSH: That’s not what they really want to do. I mean, because this… (chuckles)
CALLER: It would appear so. You know, when the Tea Party started, I think there was a paradigm shift in my mind.
RUSH: You know what? The Republican Party was just as scared of the Tea Party as the Democrats were. We just didn’t know it at the time.
CALLER: Right. But it changed their donations, and a lot of people started in my opinion donating — me personally — directly to a candidate and not for the party.
CALLER: I told them on the phone when they would call and solicit. They would let me know it was being recorded. I said, “Oh, good! I’m so glad, because I hope somebody’s listening to this.” But we started — and I think a lot of people across the country started — to see and do the same thing. And it’s been that long.
RUSH: Oh, I think a lot of people have had their eyes open, shocked that the team they thought they were on didn’t exist, and that the games were not being played to win. I guess it’s shocking to a lot of people. Now, I want to go back ’cause I got a time constraint here. You mentioned Bill Clinton and Vernon Jordan. (chuckling) I had forgotten. Folks, she is exactly right. I just read it this morning . I don’t recall where I read it, but I when I did read it, I remembered it. Bill Clinton and…
I don’t think Vernon Jordan had to resign anything over this. Vernon Jordan tells other people when they resign. Vernon Jordan doesn’t resign. In fact… (chuckling) I had dinner in Washington way, way back. This goes back to the nineties. It was the Jockey Club which was the restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, and I can’t mention the names, but boy, would I love to. I mean, you know these people. They’re Democrats, Democrat campaign chairman, and they’re talking about Vernon. They’re openly admitting it.
They’re talking about how Vernon cheats, I mean, he philanders, he’s all over place, and they love him for it. People at the table were incredulous. “You mean you don’t have a problem with that?” “Hell, no! It’s Vernon Jordan! What we gonna do ’bout it? It’s Vernon Jordan. It’s what the guy is! It’s just who the guy is! What the hell we gonna do bout? He’s the greatest guy. You can’t do nothing in this town without Vernon, so if you want to…” Okay. It was an eye-opening thing. Vernon Jordan would be out there.
He and Clinton would be in the same golf cart, they’d been out there playing golf, and every other word, folks, was what people hate Trump for today! He and Vernon Jordan, Clinton and Vernon Jordan were talking about “the kitty,” the pussycat every other sentence. Vernon got Monica a gig somewhere out of the White House, got her an offer for a gig somewhere. And then after Vernon left with Monica, here came Jesse Jackson to the White House for public prayer sessions so that Bill Clinton could get right with God after this mortal transgression and sin. It was the most puke-y thing.

CALLER: Thank you very much, Rush. Keep encouraging us. But you know what Donald could have said after that tape came out? He could have said, “You know, I was a Democrat back then. Now I’m a Republican.” (pause) That would have been kind of clever. But, anyways, Paul Ryan, I think you’re right about the Huckabee theory. I thought maybe he was just incompetent, but I think he’s destroyed the Republican Party. I think it’s going to overflow into the Senate races when it comes to Kelly Ayotte and [Pat] Toomey of Pennsylvania and —
RUSH: Wait, wait, wait. You think the Republicans are gonna win or lose the Senate?
CALLER: I think the Republicans are gonna lose now that Paul Ryan has kind of disavowed Trump.
RUSH: Oh, okay.
CALLER: I mean, he says he’s backing ’em but pulling the money away.
RUSH: Okay, you think it’s Ryan who’s destroying the party, not Trump?
CALLER: Absolutely, Ryan.
RUSH: That’s what, you mean.
CALLER: I think he needs to come out under the Capitol steps along with all these Republicans that say they’re not backing Trump, and they need to come out and forcefully say, “We are backing Donald Trump. We made a large, huge mistake.” If 75% of Trump’s supporters want Trump in there, this is definitely gonna be bad for the Republicans. They might even lose the House, Rush.
RUSH: Yeah? Yeah. Maybe. Maybe.

RUSH: I have a question for Republicans running for the House and the Senate. I’m asking this question with genuine sincerity: Why should people vote for you? It’s clear that you don’t want to stop Hillary Clinton.
It is clear that many of you do not want to try to keep Hillary Clinton out of the White House. So if it’s not important to keep her out of the White House, why is it important to elect you? Now, I can imagine the answers. The answers are, “Well, she’s gonna win because Trump is so bad, and we’re the people that are gonna stop her.” Yeah, but where’s the evidence you want to stop her? Where’s the evidence that you want to be around to put the brakes on?
“Well, Rush, we just can’t abide Trump. We can’t… (stammering) We do but we can’t we just can’t do it with Trump. We can’t! We’re dying with Trump.” Okay, well, I’ll tell you what’s gonna happen. Hillary wins and the Republicans are gonna quickly be irrelevant. She’s gonna get her Supreme Court nominee. She’s gonna open the borders. The country is going to be flooded with unregistered Democrat voters, that are gonna end up voting anyway, to go along with the dead who vote.
This, by the way, is the new Wall Street Journal poll. This is a new one with Hillary up nine, not up 11. This is the full three-day poll, not the phony two-day poll they put out. So 38% think that Donald Trump’s not qualified to be president. How many people thought that about Bill Clinton? Bill Clinton actually did the kind of things Trump is talking about. So if you are a Republican and you just can’t abide Trump — which means you’re not serious about stopping Hillary; you’re not serious about keeping her out of the White House — then people should vote for you because you?
In the House and the Senate and the governorship, that’s where you’re gonna stop Democrats?
That’s where we’re gonna stop the Democrats?
Is that right? Is that the thinking? Well, how do you do that? How do you, on the one hand, not object to Hillary Clinton being elected, and then, on the other hand, tell people, “Elect me to stop her”? It seems like they’re giving themselves a really tough position to occupy here, be they governors, senators, congressional members of the House of Representatives. They want to stop Hillary but not enough to keep her out of the White House. “So she’ll get in there, but you need to elect us to put the brakes on her.”
How’s that worked out with Obama?
I mean, we’ve had Republican majorities in the House and even the Senate for a couple of years. How has that worked out, stopping Obama, hmm? Seriously. On what basis should people vote for them? Just asking. I mean, look, folks, I don’t know. They know their job better than I do.
